LINDA MAGUIRE is seen on the great opera, theatre, and
symphonic stages of the world. She has performed on world state occasions
- including events held by diplomatic posts of Canada, Czechoslovakia,
Italy, Poland, Austria and the United States of America.
In Manila, Philippines, Linda was guest of honour,
and also sang at official state functions for Ambassador Rene Simard
in 1992 and Ambassador Stephen Heeney in 1997. As well, Linda recently
sang in conjunction with the celebrated "Glenn Gould Gathering"
attended by members of 19 world nations, performing Cesar Frank's Panis
Angelicus at the solemn tribute Ceremony of this occasion. Linda
also sang on the occasion of Beth Tzedec's 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration
of the State of Israel, entertained the evening of "The Kennedy
Dinner" commemorating the original White House Evening with the
Nobel Laureates, and sang on occasion of the glorious 223rd Anniversary
of Independence Day of the United States of America.
Throughout world cultural communities, Linda Maguire has given generously
both of her time and abundant talents. She has performed at distinguished
Events conjunctive with such entities as The Canadian Opera Company,
the gala opening of the Joey and Toby Tannenbaum Opera Building, The
Peterborough, Toronto, and Brantford Opera Guilds, and the Shaw Festival
Gala. She has also sung for The Floyd S. Chalmers and Irene Jessner
Foundations, The Toronto Jewish Women's Committee, The Heart and Stroke
Foundation, Toronto's LOFT Community Services, The Hospital for Sick
Children and for the gala tribute evening held recently in honour of
benefactors of the Canadian Opera Company. Ms. Maguire has also sung
for the AIDS Committees of Ontario, as well as of the Netherlands. Her
stunning voice has also been heard at The New York Metropolitan Museum
of Art, The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Royal Ontario Museum, The Royal
Canadian Yacht Club, as well as at Ontario's Oakville, Rosedale and
Granite Clubs. For four consecutive years, Ms. Maguire was special Guest
Artist on occasions held in San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego and Toronto
by The American Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA).
Most recently, Linda sang the role of Vitellia, opposite Frederika von
Stade in the Dallas Opera Association's production of the Mozart opera
La Clemenza di Tito. Linda also performed recently with the internationally
acclaimed Christopher Dawes, and the keenly popular Broadway virtuoso,
Michael Burgess.
In addition to opera, operetta, and oratorio performances, Linda also
does a vast array of Gershwin, Lloyd Webber, Cole Porter, and Chabrier
musical programmes, as well as repertoires of Italian, French, German
and English and Russian parlour and cabaret stylings. Ms. Maguire has
made numerous internationally acclaimed recordings which are played
often on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC radio) network.
